I can't imagine a more durable sandbag. In addition, the filler bags are essentially leakproof and are extra-tough. The outer bag is water proof so if you sweat a lot (like I do), you can easily wipe the outside down with Windex, Lysol, or some other cleaner. If you're thinking about an exercise sandbag that can absorb water, think about what happens over a number of workouts when you do exercises with the bag up against your front...when your front is soaked.The size of this bag is really nice and can accomodate many different people. Even if you're thinking about a smaller bag, I would advise buying a bigger bag (like this one) and filling it with plain clay-based, unscented cat litter--about $4 for 25 pounds at Walmart. That kind of cat litter weighs about half of what sand weighs (for a given volume) so you can have the bag really filled with a weight of 40 pounds or less.The heavier the bag, the more the hard handles are useful. I've used another brand of sandbag and when filled to 70 pounds or so the other bag's fabric handles really dig into the hands.But as good as this bag is, it's not perfect. If I had my choice, there would be handles on the ends instead of the pull tabs. It's pretty hard to do wide-grip exercises with this sandbag because the outer fabric is so heavy-duty, you can't grap a wad of fabric like you can with other sandbags. There's a smaller Ultimate Sandbag with end handles, but it's really, really small. I really, really wish this bag had end handles.Finally, you can buy this sandbag with water filler bags or else buy the water filler bags separately. If you get addicted to sandbag training (likely), having water filler bags is great for traveling because you can take your bag with you and fill it with water at your destination. I've got a vacation coming up and will be buying the inner water bags.Hope this helps your purchase decision.
